What is an eBay Link and is it safe?

We have been using the eBay Linking service since 2017. It allows us to place bids without you sharing your eBay login information with us. This is the safest way for services like ours to place bids for you on eBay. Over 35,000,000 snipes have been placed using this system!

We take security very seriously here at AuctionTamer.  You have complete control over what services are linked to your eBay account.  You can remove access to our service from your My eBay account anytime.  This will immediately revoke our access to your account, and all future snipes will fail.

Our service does not access any personal information.  We use the link to validate your eBay account, place bids, and check the outcome of snipes that you have entered into our system.

Do you store my eBay password?

Absolutely not!  Some online and desktop auction sniping services require you to share your eBay login information with them to place your bids.  We take advantage of eBay's linking service, just like PayPal and many other 3rd party eBay service providers.

When you add your eBay account to our service, we redirect you to eBay's website to log in to your account and grant us access to bidding.  eBay then adds a link between your eBay account and our service.  Finally, you have control of this link within your eBay account.

You might have done something similar to this on Facebook or Google.  This allows us to snipe auctions and determine the outcome without you ever needing to disclose any login information.
